About the Garfield Park Conservatory in Chicago, IL

THE PORTRAIT SESSION LOCATION

An iconic Chicago photography location, the Garfield Park Conservatory is located within the Garfield Park neighborhood. It is open to the public with free reservations and is incredibly easy to obtain a photography permit. It’s $85 (includes permit fee and application fee) and grants you access to the entire botanic garden for one hour. It’s the perfect winter and all-season location because come rain, shine, or blistering cold winds, you’ll enjoy the humid, balmy environment. Plus, everyone who works there is incredibly kind! A little note: this is also the same for the smaller Lincoln Park Conservatory. The Garfield Park Conservatory is the more popular one primarily for its size, but the Lincoln Park Conservatory is a beautiful showcase of greenery and flowers. Plus, it’s a more centralized location so it makes it easier to visit if you live more directly within the city.

Meet the Couple

MEET ANNA (SHE/HER) & JAZEL (HE/HIM)

Married couple Anna and Jazel are proud pug parents to a darling four year old pandemic puppy Hazel. They had a beautiful wedding that included Miss Hazel as the dog of honor so yes, they are fully invested in the pug parent identity. They even brought her white velvet harness that was a part of her wedding ensemble. Anna is so invested in love and love stories that she is a wedding violinist who performs for ceremonies, proposals, and more. The Four-Legged One

HAZEL THE PUG (SHE/HER)

Having just celebrated her fourth birthday, Miss Hazel was the star of her parents’ couple session! She is a pandemic puppy through and through and does have a little bit of separation anxiety (especially for her dad). She was such a ball of energy and knows so many neat tricks like spinning and jumping professionally for treats. She is definitely a classic pug for her love of food and one of the curliest tails ever. It’s so evident how much Anna and Jazel love being pug parents!
